38 Weeks Pregnant

38 Weeks Pregnant, Justina Ivanauskiene

38th week of my pregnancy – two weeks left till my due date, but baby can pretty much come at any time. OK, maybe not this week, but next week for sure! We really cannot wait to see our new bundle of joy. Almost ready now. Just need to set up the cot (Edward will probably do it today), iron the duvet and all is DONE!

My first week off work went well. So strange to stay at home. It feels like I am on some short holiday and I will have to go back in a few days or so. But hey, I don’t have to go back to work for about a year! That is really cool, when you think. πŸ™‚

Since I spent my last week at home, I do feel a bit better and less tired. I have more energy for house cleaning routine in the morning and most importantly, I often manage to take an afternoon nap! That gives me some energy in the evening and does make me feel more alive…

I have more and more Braxton Hicks every day. They are much stronger now than they used to be and take a little longer. Braxton Hicks make me panic about giving birth, but I try not to think about it.

On Friday I had midwife’s appointment and I have confirmed to her, that I want epidural this time. Fingers crossed I will get it…….

Sleeping at night is with ups and downs. Sometimes I wake up at around 4am and I feel full of energy – no way to fall back asleep.. But sometimes I sleep very deep, like a baby. Still have to wake up to the toilet for at least few times a night.

I weight 66.3 kilograms this week. I know, a bit strange, as last week I was 67 kilograms, which would mean, that I lost some weight. However last week I weighted myself just after having a huge watermelon, so it has probably affected my total weight. πŸ™‚ Still craving for the watermelon. Can eat tones of it on my own!

My back pains are still here and I do not believe it will go away till the baby is born… Heartburns are also still annoying me. I also get tired very easily. If I go shopping, it doesn’t even take 1 hour for me to feel knackered.

half filipino half white girlOne of the most exciting things last week, was that we finally bought a bigger car for the family! Six seater Honda FR-V! We would no longer fit on our BMW, as there will be 2 car seats – for baby and Daniella, plus us, plus we have to squeeze Luka in. We were also considering seven seaters at the beginning, but those do not have boot space. And we do need it for our prams. Proper growing familly, haha! What’s next – minivan???

Touch wood, but no stretch marks as of yet! Even though the skin feels so stretched and itchy… I am gonna look like a collapsed balloon after giving birth. But I am planing to exercise this time to get back into shape as much as I can.

And my pelvic pain has actually got better! maybe because I do not get as tired now, or because I don’t sit that many hours like I used to sit at work, but it certainly doesn’t feel as bad! Yey, life is getting brighter. πŸ™‚

Otherwise it’s just waiting left now… I will definitely miss my bump, but in a mean time I really miss the feeling with no bump! I look at the women on the street sometimes and try to remember – what is it like to wear skinny jeans, tight top with no belly sticking out??? Or what is the feeling after drinking 2 glasses of wine? Ahhh, Β miss being normal again….

Last time Daniella was posing with me to take a picture of my 37th week of pregnancy, however this time she didn’t want me to take pictures at all. πŸ™‚ That’s what we got as a result.

However I still managed to take proper photos when Daniella was off for her afternoon nap. Cheeky mummy. πŸ™‚
