I have never been a big fan of Halloween before. I have never celebrated, nor decorated the house or I have never went for Trick-or-Treating! If I am completely honest, there was actually a time (good few years ago), that I would not even open the door to kids trick-or-treating. Ha, I was pretty much like Grinch on Christmas, sorry kids. 😀
Since we moved to our first property with Edward, I agreed on carving the pumpkins on Halloween eve. To my own surprise, I actually found it quite entertaining. It has now become our family tradition. Every year we get a pumpkin each and carve our designs.
This year I gave up! I have not only decorated the house, not only going to carve pumpkins, but also going to dress up as a witch tomorrow (not much to dress up, I only bought a hat, otherwise I already look like one 😉 ) and do some Trick-or-Treating fun in our local area! Luka is over the moon, she has been asking all those years to go Trick-or-Treating with her!
And, honestly, I feel quite excited about all Halloween stuff. It feels different this year. All of us are proper getting in the Halloween mood! It feels somehow different than it used to feel in London- so many spooky decorated houses in our area, kids are all extra excited, even our neighbour knocked on our door yesterday to invite us to their Halloween party on Saturday. How strange, we don’t even know them properly – just said hello couple of times and pretty much it. But so lovely. Maybe it would be one of the things that I was missing in London – everyone is so busy there with their own lives, works, families, that they hardly even notice people around.
Our pumpkins carving this evening was great fun!
