If you are looking for ideas to have an amazing time with you kids, to get them exhausted and to make that day special for them, this is the place to go! We spent our Sunday at Splash Landings Waterpark Alton Towers and I can confidently say, it was one of the most successful weekends ever! I am sure, my kids would agree 100%!
Splash Landings Waterpark caught our attention a while ago. We even tried to book couple of times, but they only had tickets available few weeks in advance – we normally don’t plan that long ahead!. 🙂 On Saturday, however, Edward just randomly checked Alton Towers Waterpark website for availability and to our surprise they had tickets available for Sunday! We had to grab this opportunity! Booked it that very same minute! 🙂
So on Sunday morning, one hour late than originally planned, we finally got on the move to Splash Landings Waterpark in Alton. It was a very cold day, I was praying for the water and room temperature to be warm enough for me to enjoy! Children and Edward could probably swim in the minus temperatures, but not me! I need it to be nice and warm, almost like a bath tub, only then I will enjoy. Most of the UK swimming places are simply too cold for me… 🙁
40 minutes drive and we are here! Looks already beautiful and inviting from outside, but we didn’t feel like wandering around – was freezing. I was still praying for the water to be warm enough…
Despite it felt pretty busy around, there were no queues for the entrance. Hassle free check in – scan your ticket and get in. Plenty of changing rooms- for singles and for families. And it really did feel clean! We all got changed into our swimming costumes and were finally ready to see the Splash Landings Waterpark from inside!
My first impression – WARM! Warm enough even for me! Yey! Second impression – water is also warm! And that’s when I knew – we are going to have a great time here! And so we did!
Even though it was pretty busy, but there was plenty of room around to enjoy. Luka was immediately off to see attractions for bigger children – water slides, outside heated pool, etc and we were splashing around with our little ones.
We didn’t like it, we LOVED it! The place felt tidy and well organized. There is plenty of choice for smaller children as well as the bigger ones. We had a little lunch at Splash Landings Waterpark cafe, which was, of course, overpriced for what you get, but from our experience, those kind of cafes are always overpriced. I am pretty sure you can to bring your own food if you are looking for a cheaper option. The cafe gets very crowded over the lunch time. It was a mission to get a table.
What I didn’t know and what is good to know for the next time, is that you can actually bring the pram into the swimming area! We would have stayed there longer if I knew, so Harry could have napped a bit- water got his energy completely drained!
We are no doubt coming back to Splash Landings Waterpark in the very near future! Kids and ourselves had enjoyed this a lot! Harry was loving the water and most importantly it was warm enough for him (and for me). Our baby boy got so exhausted, that he fell asleep in a changing room on the changing board while I was dressing him up. 😀 I cannot wait for the next time to visit Splash Landings Waterpark. It felt like a mini vacation, it really really did! 🙂

Aww it looks like you guys had such a lovely time. It’s a shame you didn’t know to bring the pram into the swimming area, but there’s always next time!
Hope you all had a lovely time! I LOVE water parks! xxx
Some really nice photos and it looks a lovely place.
