Bank Holiday Weekend and Pregnancy Struggles

Bank Holiday Weekend and Pregnancy Struggles justina ivanauskieneToday is the last day of my long bank holiday weekend. Work tomorrow. Not long left though. I was planning to finish work on 12th of June, however I now changed it to 6th of June. Therefore I am working this week, next week and after that I am officially DONE.

On Sunday we went to Dunton Car Boot Sale. Edward and I love going there, especially if the weather is nice. Dunton Car Boot Sale is based in a proper country side, in a middle of nowhere. We did a lot of walking, but very pleasant walking. That day I’ve managed to take a nap after we came back, therefore was feeling quite well later. Edward made Filipino dinner- nice, calm family evening at home. Continue reading Bank Holiday Weekend and Pregnancy Struggles

Washing Baby Clothes Round One – or Lazy Rainy Day

toddler eatingI woke up this morning with so many plans in my mind. It’s my day off.

First task of my plan was to clean the house (nothing new, as for some reason our home looks like a war zone every morning). As a second thing I was planning to go to the shop for some groceries and then third- to go through all baby things that we currently have to see what else would we need to buy. Also to wash them all and to start packing my hospital bag – due date is not that far away, I am nearly 34 weeks pregnant!

All started as planned. Cleaned our home, did laundry, hoovered wiped the dusts off. Done. Next task in the plan was to go to the shop. I looked through the window- dark, rainy and cold. Nah. Will go to the shop later. Baby clothes and hospital bag first. Continue reading Washing Baby Clothes Round One – or Lazy Rainy Day

Dealing with a Toddler and a Soon to be Teenager

Dealing with a Toddler and a Soon to be TeenagerIf you are in a similar situation (have toddler and teenager) and you are struggling – welcome to the club! I knew it was gonna be difficult, but really didn’t expect it will be so hard! Our home sometimes become a proper war zone. And with another baby on the way I can expect nothing more, just to get ready for another, even bigger challenge! Continue reading Dealing with a Toddler and a Soon to be Teenager

Family Sunday at Hainault Forest Country Park

Hainault Forest Country ParkAnother great day with a family! The weather was beautiful today – would have been a sin to stay home. We have decided to go to Hainault Forest Country Park for a small picnic. We love Hainault Forest Country Park – it’s huge, really well looked after, they have got a lovely mini cafe, small lake where you can feed birds or rent a boat and even a mini farm zoo (free of charge)! Zoo was our main criteria for going particularly to this place today, not any other. Daniella is now so obsessed with animals! She gets so excited to see them. Doesn’t matter if it is a duck or a lion. She is so cute. 🙂

We popped in to the shop before going to get some snacks and drinks and shortly were on the way.

Since the weather is getting warm and trees and grass have that fresh greenness, park looked beautiful!!! I love that fresh feeling of the spring!

We found a nice place for our picnic, everyone had some snacks. Then Edward played with a ball with Daniella and Luka. We had a bit of a drama here, as Daniella does not always like to share. She wanted to keep ball for herself only. But after some sharing lessons she seemed to be more understanding and nicely played together.

I would have loved to run after the ball too. I’m just afraid my bump wouldn’t allow me to… I feel like a ball myself. 33 weeks, hey! We spoke with Edward today of how exciting this time is. We are really looking forward to our baby boy’s arrival now. I am so glad Edward feels as excited as I am. He is really not only the man that I love, but my best friend too! (So cheesy, but so true!). x

After couple of hours picnicking we went to see those lovely animals that Daniella was so excited about. She was over the moon!!! After that we went home, as Daniella needed to catch up with her very delayed todays afternoon sleep. Our Sunday could not have been better!

Jane Rider, Baby Stuff and Indian Dinner – Weekend is Here!!!

Weekend finally!!!

Jane Rider, Baby Stuff and Indian Dinner - Weekend is Here!!!This morning after breakfast and cleaning up we went to see baby prams once again! We already had in mind our Jane Rider, but wanted to see it live just one more time before getting it. Just to be sure. For some reason Jane prams are not displayed in many stores. There is plenty of choice online, but for us (and I think for many other people) it is very important to see it, to touch it, to feel it before we pay that quite big amount of money.
We went to the Babycare of Dagenham shop as we saw Jane Rider displayed there before. Was hoping they will still have it. After arriving in the store we found, that they now only display Jane Muum, Jane Trider and Jane Crosswalk. Jane Crosswalk was completely new model in the collection and for a moment we were quite impressed and nearly ready to change our original choice to this one. We were quite disappointed though, that we couldn’t see Jane Rider live once again, but we were told, that Trider is exactly the same, just has got 3 wheels instead of 4. So we were comparing Jane Crosswalk and Jane Trider this time.

After some discussions, adding pluses and minuses we had decided to stick to Jane Rider that we have already actually reserved and put some deposit for at The baby Show back in February. However, Jane has now released new colours for some of their prams recently, so we are going to change it slightly.

This is the colour that we would like to get.

Jane Rider, Baby Stuff and Indian Dinner - Weekend is Here!!!On the way home we were super excited. Big day is really close now! We really do need to get on with things. 🙂
Edward and I were so overwhelmed thinking and talking about our baby boy after looking at prams, that we went to few shops after to see baby clothes and possibly to buy some things. We actually didn’t buy much at the end, as I am really not sure if I still need clothes – already have quite a lot and have to sort them to see if we should still get anything. I don’t want to over buy – that’s what I have done before Daniella arrived. I didn’t even get a chance to put some of her clothes on, she grew out so quickly… So today we just bought cute set of 2 hats from H&M and Non Bio Fairy washing liquid for baby’s clothes.

We also bought some fruits, vegetables and decided to have Indian supper tonight! I’ll tell you a little secret here. If we used to feel for Indian food before, we used to always order take away, as it looked far too complicated to make it at home. But I recently found a super easy and super tasty way of preparing this kind of dinner at home!

Jane Rider, Baby Stuff and Indian Dinner - Weekend is Here!!!

When Edward told me once he was craving for curry, I firstly checked online on how to make it. I can honestly tell you, these people who can do it from scratch are magicians! I could never do it! So many ingredients, half of them I have never even heard of before!

Jane Rider, Baby Stuff and Indian Dinner - Weekend is Here!!!The idea was to find much simpler and less complicated way. And I found it. Went to Asda and bought already pre-made sauce – Bhuna (my favourite) and Rogan Josh (Edwards). I have never tried those sauces before, didn’t have any idea of which brand I shall choose. I just picked the brand that looked to me like peoples favourite, as not much of it was left on the shelve – Sharwoods Bhuna and Sharwoods Rogan Josh. Also some chicken breast, naan bread, rice and that’s it.
Preparation is extremely easy! Fry chicken breast (cut in cubes of course) for 3 minutes, pour the sauce over and simmer till chicken is cooked through. We also like to sprinkle some fresh coriander on top. Eat with rice and naan bread. AMAZINGLY TASTY!
So today we have decided to have Indian dinner again. We bought all ingredients above, plus some samosas, onion bhaji and we made king prawn bhuna instead of chicken (my choice – I love seafood!!!). Edward’s brother Jim arrived and we all had a wonderful Indian dinner! I cannot recommend you those Sharwood sauces enough! Tastier than best Indian take away!!!
